Membership Benefits

Programs and Services

Individual Advocacy - 
Covenants of Support convenes small circles of individuals who enter into an intentional relationship with a person with disabilities in order to minimize the isolation of the person and maintain their visibility.
Training and education to adults and high school students help them speak for themselves, make good choices and become more self-confident.
Family Advocacy -
The Family Support Services Program helps eligible families to maintain family members with disabilities within the family home by assisting with specific expenses.
The Information and Referral staff provides support to families attempting to secure resources and services.
Case Advocacy staff assists parents and guardians of school-aged children with educational resources within an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan.
Public Policy/Systemic Advocacy -
Staff and volunteer representatives introduced Senate Bill 47 to change the makeup of Ohio Boards of Developmental Disabilities to include two members with developmental disabilities.
Staff helped draft a federal grant to fund a 24-hour on-demand voucher program to provide taxi service to people with disabilties.
The Quality of Life Monitoring Program protects people with developmental and intellectual disabilities from abuse and neglect by monitoring safety and health factors in individual living environments.
