Dear Arc Supporters,

 We at The Arc are buzzing about the new benefit we are bringing to our members. The Arc, in collaboration with The Arc of Ohio, has partnered with Foundation For the Challenged to organize Empowered Group Purchasing, a statewide group purchasing organization that enables people with developmental disabilities, their families and those who support them to access a network of goods and services at reduced rates. For example, items such as medical supplies and durable medical equipment are available at 20-35% off retail prices. Nationwide Insurance is offering a new life insurance policy catered to people with developmental disabilities.

These are just a few of the items your Arc membership will save you money on. The list of goods and services offered at reduced rates will continue to grow over the next several months to include groceries, gasoline companies and retailers. However, your purchases today will help to demonstrate the potential purchasing power of individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and supporters. In turn, more retailers will be attracted to the network. Once again, The Arc can demonstrate what a significant presence the developmental disabilities community is. That is why we say when you make purchases through Empowered Group Purchasing, you are “Purchasing with Purpose.”

If you are a current Arc member, we will be mailing your new plastic Arc card in May. This will enable you to start making purchases through Empowered Group Purchasing. We are excited to bring this program to our members throughout the Southwest Ohio community.
